Desert Dreams

Walk through the canyons
And hear not the owl
Who is wise and guides
All to his doom.

Hop across the red slick-rock.
Run down through the Narrows.
Jump from hills of White Sand
In the rain.

For the bats do not sleep
In the hanging of gardens.
While the wind cools
The water and trees.

The Subway will flood
From the rain in the sunset.
While the Angels
Will land on their knees.
